WoW Blacksmithing - A Guide To Starting Out

WoW blacksmithing is one of the professions that you could opt for as a player in World of Warcraft.
This character can make things from metal, like weapons, armor and many other trade items.
The WoW blacksmithing profession is extremely useful to all of the characters that wear armor plate and chain mail. However, most of the classes can find a use for a blacksmith also for the weapons and other things that they are able to make.
It can not be recommended strongly enough that you should take up mining as your second profession, to make the most of the WoW blacksmithing. This will give you the chance to find and smelt the minerals, ores and other materials that you'll need for your profession, saving you plenty of gold at the Auction House.

Becoming a blacksmith

If you seriously want to commence WoW blacksmithing then you have to be level five at least.
Now you head off to the closest blacksmith training ground and commence training.
To make the most of the recipes you are following, you will need to have access to an anvil as well as a hammer.
The recipes in WoW blacksmithing will let you know whether they can advance your level.

There is just one way to accumulate skill points and that is to ply your trade.

  1. You will nearly always be offered skill points with orange recipes.
  2. The majority of the time you will also receive skill points with yellow recipes too.
  3. Green recipes will only occasionally get you a skill point.
  4. Grey recipes can't earn you any skill points for crafting them.

When you level up your WoW blacksmithing

You will need to head back to your trainer as you level up for new recipes and more advanced training. You can also find new recipes on certain vendors, find them in loot from corpses, or buy them on the Auction House.
You should have the Wrath of the Lich King expansions and the Burning Crusade to get to the highest levels of WoW blacksmithing.
If you need to specialize your blacksmithing you will need to complete a specialization quest.
The decision you make is binding so do not forget to choose your quest very carefully.
