DIRECTV Beats Cable TV
I've been itching to get away from Comcast basic cable for quite a while. The problem is they give you a great combo with their bundles that include telepone, internet, and cable television service. When customers need to disconnect one of these, you miss out on the discounts of the bundle.
But the cable television setup just needs to go, as the service and quality is below average. With so much discussion today about high definition, there just wasn't much choice with Charter Cable. So I started researching who else was providing service in my area.
I happen to be one of the people who have been given a few choices. Unlike most subscribers who can only choose from either the cable company or Direct TV satellite TV, I have another option in my region. The old telephone company in my area has been enhancing their network. So now I have an additional player with U-verse from AT&T.
That doesn't mean of course I won't have similar problems. It would put someone in the same boat as with the cable television company, as the phone guys want me to package their TV service with internet and voice service. If the service works out well, customers will be satisfied. Then again if the service is poor you are in the same circumstance that we all hate, being stuck with cable TV that isn't all that great.
Some reviews I found are pretty good on telecom television service. Of course it is brand new, there is sometimes a learning curve with a new technology like this, and some people write poor reviews. Some of those reviews are the funny, simply for the reason customers make the decision to write a bad review on their horrible experience and post it on the world wide web. They badmouth the company like it is some giant conspiracy to screw the customer, like the company does not want to make money!
Another option I am looking into is of course satellite TV. Because we have six television watchers in the home, we usually buy a premium TV bundle. The satellite TV choices are fairly comparable, as the Premier DirecTV package and the America's Everything Pack from DISH Network are each about $105 per month. Sure that's pretty high for pay television, but if you compare that to taking your family to supper and a show, the entertainment value is comparable. The nice thing is that there are lots of Direct TV reviews to help me decide which direction to take.
